Frequently Asked Questions

Who can play? How old does my child have to be?+
To calculate your player's soccer age, subtract your child's birth year info against the seasonal year range. For example, in the 2026–2027 season, a child born in October 2016 falls within August 1, 2016 – July 31, 2017 — placing them in the U10 age group.
How much does it cost to play?+
U4 is $45, U6 is $55, U8 is $65, and U10–U14 is $75. These prices include a jersey and, for younger kids, a medal at the end of the season.
When are practices?+
Practice times are decided by your coach. Once rosters are sent out, your coach will reach out — please make sure your contact info is correct when you register.
When do I know what team we're on?+
After registration closes, teams are formed immediately and rosters are sent to coaches, who will contact you shortly after.
When does the season start and end?+
First and last game days are TBD for the upcoming season — check back on this page and our Facebook page for updates.
My child has never played before — should I be concerned?+
Not at all. Our program is recreational and focused on development — small-sided games, "must play" rules, and licensed coaching. We have kids of all ages who have never played before.
What is your game cancellation policy?+
Soccer is played in all weather unless there is lightning. Dress appropriately — we'll post updates on our website and Facebook if fields close or games are cancelled.
Who can coach? Do I need experience?+
All you need is organizational skills and a willingness to help — no prior experience required. We provide training info, drills, plus a ball bag, balls, cones and pennies so you're never out of pocket.
How can I help?+
MCSA relies solely on volunteers — coaches, assistant coaches, and field coordinators are always needed. Reach out to board@marshallsoccer.com.
